RESUMO
A cicatrização dos alvéolos e os processos de reabsorção, que se verificam após a extração dentária, têm sido muito investigados ao longo dos anos. Após a extração dentária, o osso fascicular é reabsorvido e, por conseguinte, uma parte da lâmina vestibular. Mesmo que seja feito o posicionamento imediato do implante, isso pode não prevenir a reabsorção do osso fascicular. Os avanços na Implantodontia permitem minimizar as alterações do complexo dentomucoalveolar por meio do preenchimento do alvéolo dentário e implante instalado imediatamente após a exodontia. O procedimento representa, em algumas situações clínicas, uma técnica indispensável para a obtenção de um resultado estético satisfatório nas reabilitações protéticas. A técnica de eleição descrita favoreceu a manutenção da arquitetura gengival e óssea durante todo o tempo de acompanhamento.

ABSTRACT
Bone healing and resorption processes, which occur after tooth extraction, have been investigated over the years. After tooth extraction, the fascicular bone is reabsorbed and therefore a part of the vestibular blade. Even if immediate placement of the implant is done, this may not prevent the resorption of the fascicular bone. Advances in implant dentistry allow minimizing changes in the dentomucoalveolar complex by filling the tooth socket and implant installed immediately after the extraction. The procedure represents, in some clinical situations, an indispensable technique to obtain a satisfactory aesthetic result in prosthetic rehabilitations. The selection technique described favored the maintenance of the gingival and bone architecture throughout the follow-up time.
